This blog uses NO cookies!
Everything on https://olivier.berlin is designed around the no cookies philosophy. I don’t like cookie banners, and I don’t need analytics. I want you to have a good time, and read about my projects. However, this comes with some implications. E.g. I cannot embed any social media content directly, because that would cause some of your data to be send to third parties when a page is loaded.
However, I can place links towards content I find interesting. I’ll sometimes use images that look like previews, but are in fact screenshots that link to the ressource. This way, the inconvenience for you is that an additional tab opens, but the benefit is that there is no tracking whatsoever.
What I do to prevent cookies
- I do not use Google Fonts (or any other external fonts)
- I do not directly embed any social media content
- I do not place any ads
- I do not use any form of analytics
- There is no register or comment functionality on this site
- There is no newsletter
- There is no tracking
Is this legal
I am not a lawyer, but my research concluded that this is absolutely in line with GDPR. Some lawyers do not use cookie banners on their simple websites as well.
